Exclusive: More details of the exterior of the Xiaomi YU7 have been exposed, and it looks a lot like a Ferrari.

In the latest batch of declaration catalogs on December 9th, Xiaomi’s second model, the YU7, officially appeared on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s list. Meanwhile, the official statement announced that the new vehicle will be launched between June and July 2025.

There is still half a year to go before its launch. The fact that the Xiaomi YU7 was shown on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s list so early has sparked discussions among netizens. CEO Lei Jun’s explanation is that such an early appearance is to allow the YU7 to remove the camouflage stickers for better testing.

Less than half a month later, netizens from the Xinchuxing Community photographed the Xiaomi YU7 test vehicle without camouflage. So, combining the information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, let’s talk about the Xiaomi YU7 (Note: The pictures are sourced from the enthusiastic car enthusiast Miss Jin of the HiMi Club Beijing Xiaomi Car Owners Association).

I. Interpretation of the Real-shot Vehicle – The Design is Truly Dynamic
It can be seen that the entire exterior design of the Xiaomi YU7 is indeed quite dynamic. The elongated front of the vehicle looks very impactful.

In addition, from the details of the front face, it can be seen that there are air duct designs above the headlights, on the sides, and below the fenders of the YU7.

Besides, this is also the first time we’ve seen the side of the new vehicle. It can be observed that the body proportions on the entire side also present a sporty style rather than that of a conventional square SUV.

From this side that was exposed for the first time, we can see that there is a huge clamshell hood at the front, which covers the front completely. Moreover, the connection of the clamshell hood and the side waistline are integrated, making it more unified.

In terms of body dimensions, the length, width, and height are 4999 * 1996 * 1600 mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 3000 mm.

From the stickers on the front door, it can be seen that this is a TEST CAR numbered 109. There is a camera device above the B-pillar, and the side forward ADAS camera of the YU7 is also located on the B-pillar.

The rear also has a relatively wide wide-body treatment, making the YU7 look more sporty.

In addition, from the configuration of the roof camera, it can be seen that the YU7 may be equipped with a streaming media interior rearview mirror.

II. Exterior Comparison with Model Y and R7
With the exposure of the real-shot exterior pictures of the Xiaomi YU7 this time, we finally got to see the front, side, and rear views of the Xiaomi YU7. So, let’s put the YU7 together with the currently popular Model Y and R7 for comparison.

Firstly, in terms of exterior design, none of the three vehicles are conventional square SUVs, and each product has its own family characteristics.

In terms of side styling, the side profiles of the three vehicles are also different. The R7 pursues large space, while the YU7 has a longer L113.

From the specific dimensions, the YU7 has the longest vehicle length but the lowest vehicle height. Therefore, the combination of a longer body and a lower height also makes the YU7 look more sporty.

In terms of rear design, both the YU7 and Model Y use integrated taillights. It’s unknown whether the new Model Y will be upgraded to integrated taillights. But to be honest, the rear features of all three models are quite distinct.

Apart from the differences in exterior design, next we’ll briefly look at the basic information such as the power of the three vehicles together. Since a lot of information about the YU7 has not been officially released yet, we won’t make a detailed comparison.

From the motor configurations of the three vehicles, it can be seen that the power of the four-wheel drive version of the YU7 is indeed quite powerful. Whether it’s the front motor or the rear motor, the driving power is greater. However, we don’t know what the final pricing will be.

III. Interior Conjecture of the Xiaomi YU7
In terms of the interior, the Xiaomi YU7 has not revealed more relevant information this time. However, we can summarize and introduce some information obtained from the Internet.

In terms of color matching, there are currently two color matching assembly diagrams of the Xiaomi YU7 exposed on the Internet, namely the purple/gray and orange/black two-tone combinations. Judging from the pictures, the new vehicle basically also uses a large amount of leather wrapping.

Moreover, the layout of the entire armrest is very similar to that of the current Xiaomi YU7. In addition, it can be seen that two speakers are arranged on one door panel. It is believed that the overall configuration of the new vehicle will not be too low either.

Firstly, for the front interior, the general design style of the Xiaomi YU7 will still continue the orientation of a warm family atmosphere. From some previously obtained exposure pictures, it can be seen that the new vehicle will still adopt the layout of a large horizontal screen.

The central armrest part still maintains the classic design of dual wireless phone charging + dual cup holders + glove box + hollowed-out bottom, which is consistent with the current Xiaomi YU7.

However, in terms of the interior, the Xiaomi YU7 will make a major innovation in the instrument panel and HUD display module. Previously, Xiaomi Motors submitted a patent for an instrument display module that improves safe driving.

It’s similar to the far-end screen on the Avita 12, but there are also significant differences, because this patented technology is also realized in the form of HUD. We can see the layout of this display from the previous road spy photos.

For this design, we can also see from the windshield of the YU7 that the contour of the black adhesive for sealing the windshield edge is also different from that of conventional models. It is estimated that this is also for the consideration of light for this new design.

In terms of seats, it can also be seen from this declaration diagram that the YU7 will also adopt the same seat headrests as those on the SU7.

Coming to the rear row, from the previous exposure pictures, it can be seen that the Xiaomi YU7 adopts the air conditioning system layout with air outlets on the B-pillar in the rear row, and soft supports are also designed at the elbow positions, which is a very reasonable optimization.

IV. Power Information – The Maximum Speed Can Reach 253 km/h
From the declaration catalog, it can be seen that the Xiaomi YU7 this time adopts a dual-motor combination of 220 kW (V6) in the front and 288 kW (V6S) in the rear, with a maximum speed of 253 km/h.
The motor parameters of the Xiaomi YU7 are 220 kW in the front and 288 kW in the rear.

V. Intelligent Driving System – May Come Standard with MAX Intelligent Driving Capability
The Xiaomi SU7 on sale is divided into two versions: with lidar (Max/Pro) and without lidar (Standard Edition).

In the upcoming Xiaomi YU7 model, the entry-level configuration may be canceled, and the SKU scheme with lidar equipped for the entire series may be adopted.
